Monthly Shabbat Lunch & Learn
On the second Saturday of the month, Belsize provides a delicious sit-down lunch, consisting of stimulating conversation with other community members, singing with Cantor Heller, and learning with Rabbi Botnick.
The meal begins shortly after services (usually around 12:15pm), allowing participants a chance to enjoy first the larger community Kiddush.
The formal learning starts at about 12:45pm and is livestreamed right here on this page, so if you can’t join us in person, you can still catch the learning.
Current Theme: Hidden Yidden
Our current theme is “Hidden Yidden,” in which we’ll be exploring the under-appreciated influence of Jewishness on shaping Western culture. Each month we’ll cover a different creative field – such as the visual arts, music, literature, film and television, even sports – and learn how some that field’s greatest luminaries might have been influenced by their Jewish background, a factor that often has been overlooked or hidden for any number of reasons.
