Library

The library is open to members during office hours and services, except when the room is otherwise in use, eg for children’s services. Please click here to view the library catalogue, which is a work in progress maintained by volunteers.

  • Reference books are kept on top of the bookcases and must not be borrowed
  • Oversize books are kept where space permits, regardless of subject – most are on low shelves in the kitchen area next door to the main library
  • Back issues of Our Congregation are in the cupboard under the front window, and other Belsize Square Synagogue archival materials are in the glass-fronted cabinet between the bookshelves
  • To borrow a non-reference book, please complete the details in the ring binder kept in a wire tray on the window-sill
  • To return a book, please add the date of return alongside the borrowing details in the ring binder, and place the book under the binder – do not re-shelve it

Because of space constraints, we regret that donated books can only be accepted if judged to be of genuine interest to members.
