A celebratory Shabbat 75 years after Belsize Square Synagogue’s first service. Our special guest will be Rabbi Dr Ismar Schorsch, chancellor emeritus of the Jewish Theological Seminary, New York,and a leading scholar in German-Jewish studies. His father, Emil, was a rabbi in Hanover.  After being arrested and sent to Buchenwald on Kristallnacht, he eventually fled with his family to London and then to the USA. Rabbi Schorsch is a compelling and fascinating speaker, and it will be a real honour to welcome him to Belsize Square.

• Friday evening: Rabbis Altshuler and Mariner will both speak, and the service will be followed by a stylish and tasty communal dinner.
• Saturday: Rabbi Schorsch will deliver a d’var Torah during Shabbat morning service and, after a communal kiddush, he will conduct a shiur on Mishnah Rosh Hashanah.
