Mitzvah Day this year is on Sunday 17 November. There will be a number of activities and collections to join in with, in particular we are looking for volunteers to distribute biscuits decorated by the cheder children to some of our senior members. If you have a car and are can give even just an hour of your time that day please contact the synagogue office, any help would be hugely appreciated.
As part of our activities for this year’s Mitzvah Day we are collecting for The Camden Foodbank.
The Camden Foodbank is one of over 1200 foodbanks in the UK supported by The Trussell Trust. The Foodbank serves the local community by providing 3 days of emergency food and household items to people in economic crisis who have been referred to them by a registered agency such as social services or the job centre. The Foodbank relies entirely on donations to be able to carry out its work and ensure that no-one referred to them goes hungry. At this time the Foodbank would welcome donations of the following items:
Tins of fish – tuna, sardines, mackerel
Tins of meat (meatballs, hot dogs etc)
Long life semi-skimmed milk
